Day 4. Time's running out and there's still so much exploring to do. I had to get a photo of this iconic tower to start the day. It's estimated that 10,000 aircraft fly in to Oshkosh for Airventure each year in the span of a week making this the busiest airport on the planet and what an enormous task it is for ATC to keep everything flowing!

There were numerous aerial demonstrations today and again I had front-row seating under my wing!
The Thunderbirds put on a show.

The demonstration of old and new was amazing. Two P-51 Mustangs flying in formation with two F-22 Raptors.

The reunion attendees who got to park near the Brown Arch were the recipients of a lot of attention throughout the week as thousands of enthusiasts walked within inches of their planes. Unfortunately, they were also the recipients of a lot of unwanted touching which is something the show coordinators and veteran attendees told people not to do! There were signs everywhere telling people, "Do Not Touch The Airplanes". Last night there was a lady caught changing her kid's diaper on someone's horizontal stabilizer because she didn't want to be bothered to walk to a changing room -- NO JOKE! The airshow announcer for this evening's event even had to make an announcement about it on the PA system because show coordinators were in disbelief someone would have the audacity to do that and he repeated once again, "Ladies and gentlemen, please do not touch the airplanes".
After hearing that and upon returning to my Tailwind, I was able to see the oil access door in the cowl had been pushed completely in. The interior sub-assembly that prevents the door from opening inward had been cracked out of position and the only way this could have happened was by someone sticking their fingers where they shouldn't have been! I didn't have tools or epoxy to fix it so black tape will have to do.
